Triarchy Press Works in Progress
As the exhibition draws nearer, it becomes increasingly apparent that the processes, organizations and individuals involved cannot be separated from any understanding of the project as a whole. The collaboration between artist, legal firm, human rights charities and local businesses grew organically, initiated by personal responses to the works of art and developed further as deeper consideration of the subjects depicted revealed new connections and prompted new questions.
Publication
Triarchy Press have commissioned Richard Wells, Senior Fellow with Dartington Creative Enterprise, to write a publication that will explore Ricky Romain's art, the partnership processes involved in the Tooks exhibition and the impact of the overall project on the organizations concerned, and on the wider public. It will focus on questions of:
- art intervention in organizations
- the importance of the arts in communicating emotive, upsetting and sensitive subjects
The publication is provisionally entitled 'Alienation and Integration: A case study of aesthetic leadership in organizations and businesses'. Its launch date will be Human Rights Day (10th December) 2007, completing a year of associated events. For more information about Dartington Creative Enterprise, please visit www.dartington.ac.uk.
For more about the book, please revisit this site in December, or email to receive information as we have it.
